London Adventures and Accolades
I've just returned from the SWPP Conference (Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers) in London. Over 12,000 people from all over the globe attended and it was brilliant to meet up with the creme-de-la-creme of the photography world! An awards dinner was held on Sunday night and I was amazed to find that I'd been shortlisted for two of the national prizes. Out of over 16,500 entrants over the year in the monthly competitions (across all the categories), my images came in the TOP THREE in Fashion & Beauty and Pictorial (see above). I didn't win either first prize, but was absolutely to delighted to see my images on the big screen, and to see them printed in The Societies Collection 2008. Not bad for a wee girl from Peterheid! :-)

Ava Grace - a wee bit of heaven...
A wee bit of heaven
drifted down from above-
A handful of happiness,
a heart full of love.
The mystery of life,
so sacred and sweet-
The giver of joy
so deep and complete.
Precious and priceless,
so lovable, too-
The world's sweetest miracle,
baby, is you.

DND - Do Not Disturb!
Now that Christmas is over, it is safe to post pictures that were being kept secret till the big day! Thank you to Wendy and Paul for giving me permission to post a selection of the images taken on a DND shoot in November. Wendy's hair and makeup was beautifully styled by Clair Keith (www.clairkeith.co.uk) and we had a lot of fun coming up with different poses and settings throughout the afternoon. Paul is a lucky man!

Adrian and Lorraine's Wedding
Adrian Whalley and Lorraine Finnie chose the first Saturday in January to tie the knot. Luckily, the weather was kind, and Lorraine was able to walk to Old Deer Parish Church from home, surrounded by a happy procession of family and friends. Rev Jimmy Wishart, an old friend of mine, conducted the service. In spite of it being nearly pitch dark (and freezing) when we left the church, the couple were still happy for me to take photographs outside. So, whilst everyone else headed off to the hotel, we spent a fun half an hour taking pics round the back of the church.....the only problem is by the time we had finished, all the gates were locked and there was nobody to take US to the reception. Hehe. Thank goodness Adrian's mobile phone had a signal.....:-)
